My name is Konstantinos Antonopoulos and I am an archaeologist. Ι was born in Athens on November 17, 1973. I come from Greece, from western Peloponnese, from a small village, right beside the archaeological site of Ancient Elis, the birthplace of the Olympic Games.  I grew up there, and Elis was the place that inspired me to follow Archaeology, the science that I now serve.

Great part of my childhood and student years I spent in Amaliada and Pirgos. I attended high school in Athens and after national exams, I continued my studies at the University of Athens, graduating in 1996.

Early in 2000, after my military service, I started working as archaeologist at the Greek Ministry of Culture, at the 1st Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities in Athens.

In March 2003, I joined the Work of the study, excavation and restoration of Ancient Elis, one of the most important projects of the Greek Ministry of Culture, managing to return to my father's land.

Since January 2006 I work for the 7th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities in Ancient Olympia, after a short intervening period of employment in the Directorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities, at the Headquarters of the Greek Ministry of Culture in Athens.

Concerning my family status, I am single, I have two sisters, Magdalene and Lambrini, living in Athens with my mother Sophia. My father Vasileios Antonopoulos, was an officer of the Greek Fire Service.
